Appleby's school occupies a famous building, built three hundred years' ago in 1697 and based on an original design by Sir Christopher Wren.
During Victorian times it was a boys' grammar school. The building was closed between 1933 and 1957, when it reopened as the village primary school.

Appleby's most famous pupil is probably William Huskisson, well known as being the first man to die in a railway accident when he was knocked down by Stephenson's Rocket at the opening of the Liverpool-Manchester railway. He was a Member of Parliament in Liverpool at the time.

Join our team and our Medium for the night as we explore this historic location to find out who still walks the corridors.
We will carry out experiments of new and old techniques to evoke paranormal activity. Dare you volunteer to be part of some of his more extreme experiments?

Join in with group séances, table tipping and more. As with all our events you will have the opportunity to break down into smaller groups and carry out your own investigation, with the help and guidance of our team.
Our ghost hunting equipment will all be made available for your use, and you will be shown how to use it effectively.

You are welcome to bring any ghost hunting equipment of your own, and don't forget your camera and / or camcorder.
