Join our team and Brian Shepherd, as we dare to investigate this old school for poor and destitute kids of the east end. Will you hear the voices previously witnessed or the running of little feet. Brian will use all his tools of the trade to evoke activity.
Compass Paranormal Events have full access to the site for this exclusive ghost hunt.
The Ragged School Museum is housed in a group of three canal side buildings which once formed the largest “ragged” or free school in London.
When Thomas Barnardo came to London from his home city of Dublin in 1866, intending to train as a doctor and then become a missionary in China, he was confronted by a city where disease was rife, poverty and overcrowding endemic and educational opportunities for the poor were non-existent. He watched helplessly as a cholera epidemic swept through the East End, leaving over 3,000 Londoners dead and many destitute.
He gave up his medical training to pursue his local missionary works and in 1867 opened his first "ragged school" where children could gain a free basic education.
There have been numerous paranormal phenomena witnessed at this location.
Reports of children singing, the sound of running feet and poltergeist activity including a mischievous child running around guests.
Join our team and our Medium for the night as we explore this historic location to find out who still walks the corridors.
We will carry out experiments of new and old techniques to evoke paranormal activity. Dare you volunteer to be part of some of his more extreme experiments?
Join in with group séances, table tipping and more. As with all our events you will have the opportunity to break down into smaller groups and carry out your own investigation, with the help and guidance of our team.
Our ghost hunting equipment will all be made available for your use, and you will be shown how to use it effectively.
You are welcome to bring any ghost hunting equipment of your own, and don't forget your camera and / or camcorder.
