The Galleries of Justice has a long history of powerful emotions - anger, despair, betrayal, hopelessness, terrible suffering and, of course, executions. It is not surprising that this rich atmosphere should have left its mark, so that the buildings today abound with reported ghostly encounters.

The Galleries of Justice Museum is based at Nottingham’s Grade II* listed Shire Hall in the heart of the city’s historic Lace Market. There has been a court on the site since at least 1375 and a prison since at least 1449, although recent investigation has unearthed what appears to be a much older dungeon that has been sealed for 100’s of years.

Over the centuries, many thousands of people have entered the building with a sense of dread for their future. The very steps to the entrance were the site of many public executions, and below the courtrooms, in the exercise yard, the bodies of the condemned were laid to rest.

There is so much paranormal activity in this location that we could not mention it all here, what we will mention is the story of a contractor working within this area during the 1998 excavations saw and felt something that made him flee from the area in a panic. He went to see the clerk of works and asked to be put on to another job, refusing to work in the area again.

You will be given a guided tour of the location by an expert and hear an in depth history of the area before breaking down into smaller teams. This is your oppurtunity to handle and be taught how to use our ghost hunting equipment correctly, ready for your own vigils.

We will then embark on a tour of the grounds again, with our team and TV's Most Haunted psychic medium, Barrie John, where who knows what we shall uncover.

Finally you will have the oppurtunity to break off in your smaller teams and conduct your own vigils, under the watchful eyes of our experienced team.

You will constantly have the oppurtunity to join in with experiments such as table tipping, seances and glass divination.

If you dare, you can choose to stay alone in areas which we know to be of strong paranormal activity, but be warned we will be carrying out experiments to encourage ghostly happenings.

Remember to bring a camera / camcorder to capture paranormal evidence.
